A Costume Designer for film and television, Ane Crabtree made an immediate and lasting impression when she created the look for The Sopranos in the original HBO pilot. Born in South Dakota and raised in Kentucky, she studied fine arts at Harlaxton College in Lincolnshire, England, and fashion design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Ane's singular vision has worked well with a wide range of directors and producers including Michael Apted, Mimi Leder, Art Linson, David Milch, and Michael Mann. She is known for her personal touch with actors such as Dustin Hoffman, Nick Nolte, Joan Allen, Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas, Helen Hunt, Liev Schreiber, Sarah Jessica Parker, Catherine Keener, Oliver Platt, Brendan Gleeson, Ray Liotta, Nathan Lane, Allison Janney, Lizzy Caplan, and Michael Sheen.
Ane currently designs Masters of Sex for Showtime, and is in production with the feature film Lila and Eve starring Viola Davis and Jennifer Lopez. Her recent work includes the pilot for HBO's upcoming series The Money, the Sundance Channel's pilot and first season of Rectify, and the first season of NBC's Ironside. Past work include the HBO series Luck, the pilot and first season of FX's Justified, and ABC's Pan Am. For her work on Pan Am, Ane was nominated for a Costume Designer's Guild Award. Her films include The Sundance Film Festival's selected Please Give, the Tribeca Film Festival's Every Day, and The Code. Crabtree's commercial work includes various spots for Adidas, Sherwin Williams, AT&T, Miller Lite, and Aio. Ane lives in Los Angeles and works regularly on both coasts.
